Today we had folks from all over the country. We had Robert from Toronto Canada, John from Indy, Alex, Christina and Tom from Atlanta Ga., and Tom from Seattle Washington.

Today we went right to kite fishing and hoping for the best. Fishing was on the slow side today and we knew that we had a hand full of boats on this convention and most of the boats went trolling the reef and were not catching anything. So we decided that we were going for hero or zero.

Well as it turned out we made the right choice.

Not only did we catch fish but we caught a couple of big fish to boot and pretty much smoked the rest of the boats.

Don't get me wrong all the other boats were very good fisherman it was just our turn and things worked out real good for the hooked Up Fishing team today.

Robert ended up catching an 80-inch hammerhead shark and Christine ended up with a monster sailfish.

Thanks again guys for a fun afternoon of deep-sea fishing aboard the hooked up off the coast of South Florida.

Nov 30

What a great way to end November 2010 we had Lorene, Mike, Deb and Marty from Colorado and from Arizona out for a morning of deep sea fishing aboard the hooked up off the coast of Fort Lauderdale

Fishing had been a bit on the slow side the past few days so we knew we were going to try a couple of different fishing strategies.

We started out picking up some live baits from the live bait boat and went right to kite fishing with 4 baits suspended from the kite.

It took some waiting but all at once came this BIG black tip shark after one of our kite baits. It took a matter of seconds for the shark to catch one of these live baits that were on a tight leash and just like that we were Hooked Up.

The rod bent over line started peeling off the reel our angler jumped in the chair and the fight was on.

It took a good 15 min to get this big black tip shark to the side of the boat. J.J. got the shark in the boat for a few quick pictures and a quick measurement to have a replica trophy made of him and watched him swam away in good shape.

Ok now we had the skunk out of the box but kite fishing was just not producing enough bites for us to stick this out so we changed fishing strategies.

In came all the kite fishing gear and off we went to do some deep drops on some of the wrecks that lay on the bottom off the coast of ft Lauderdale.

First drop produced a nice amber jack. Than we dropped again and came up with a nice black grouper. Then yet another drop and YES yet another black grouper.

Talk about making the right move we ended up with two 10 to 15 pound black groupers and one nice amber jack.

Guy's thanks for spending the last day of November aboard the Hooked Up and helping us end Nov on a great note.
