Kabetogama/Namakan Fishing Report 10/15/07

Fall fishing on Kabetogama and Namakan has been the best I've seen in the last 5 years.

Walleyes have been consistently hitting minnows at the 35-40' range for the past week. A shallow walleye bite remains slow.

Late mornings seem to be the best time to be on the lake. Jig and minnow, a slightly better presentation then slip sinker rigs.

Northern pike action moderate, live bait has the edge over artificials.

Grouse hunting remains slow, birds are tough to come by.

The overlapping seasons are great for sportsman, fish in the mornings, bird hunt in the afternoons.

Good Luck,
