July is finishing in fine fishing fashion. The fishing has been good for several days now. I hope August follows this trend.

We had a tough trip to Bimini will Eddie and Armondo last week. The wind blew and the rain fell, but fuel prices in Bimini soared to a scary new level. Fuel was up to $5.30 per gallon. We caught a lot of yellowtail snapper and plenty of cero mackerel for action. Some big amberjacks brought big fights for the guys on Friday. With plenty of heavy rain and high winds, Saturday was looking bleak till Eddie ended our trip with a nice wahoo.

The fish in Miami welcomed us with open mouths. The Scott Dolsey party scored with a couple bonito and 2 out of 3 sailfish on Sunday. We had some kingfish bites, but none in the boat.

Monday Doug White and Nichole had a fun evening with 5 bonito, a king and then running offshore they had a good fight with a shark and Doug caught and released his first swordfish.

Tuesday Gary Smith brought his son Jeremy and a couple of his buddies down from Orlando. The guys caught a dozen bonito, 10 kings, 2 small amberjacks and a 10 pound black grouper. Of course the top catch was Jeremy's first sailfish release.

Gary added a nice black to a day of hot action

Thursday we caught 3 kings on the bottom in 120 to 140 feet of water. We also caught a bonito and 6 pound amberjack. At the end of the day we moved out to 350 feet of water baited a rod with a couple chunks of bonito and Hans caught snow groupers of 22 and 12 pounds in three drops. The fish on the second drop got away.

Thursday evening we fished 2 hours and caught 5 snook and 2 barracudas.

Friday Mitch and his son Brett caught a tough break with rain and high winds and seas. They fought through it and scored with 5 bonito, 2 mutton snappers, a couple small amberjacks, a couple barracuda, a 16 pound gray grouper and two big spinner sharks.

We are getting ready to go catch swordfish tonight. The reports are great with good action on fish to 300 pounds. e-mail me at captbouncer@bellsouth.net to plan your trip.
