Well, the week has been slow with Christmas right around the corner. Most have shopping on their minds and fishing is way back on the back burner. We have had a mist that lasted about two days but no rain to amount to anything. The lake still is holding about 5.5 low. The water temp has remained at low 50's to the upper 40's. The deep bite has still been my best pattern. Jigging spoons, small jigs, and tail spinners have been the best baits. The shallow bite has been fair on lipless crank baits. Main lake points with grass along with secondary points. Don't over look the spinner bait in the above mentioned areas. This bait can be good on windy days around wind blown points. The best pattern the next couple of weeks will be fishing main lake points with a spinner bait and lipless crank bait, Creek channels with a ½ ounce jig and deep water spooning. Points will have some females moving up to stage if the weather remains warm through January.

There is a cold front coming for the weekend but it is not going to get real cold. If you fish this weekend work the humps and roadbeds out deep. Look for 26 to 36 foot of water and look for baits and fish. Drop a marker and get after it. This is where you will find the crappie. They are stacking up on the areas around the dam and minnows and small jigs are the best baits. Don't forget the first 25 you catch you have to keep. This is till the last day of February.

I wish all a very MERRY CHRISTMAS an a Safe Holiday Weekend.
