Charters out of Wild Wings and private boaters are pulling quick limits of walleyes in the near shore area between Turtle Creek and Wild Wings Marina in the reef complex area north of Oak Harbor.

As in the past couple weeks jig fishing continues to be the best technique. Most charters are using hair jigs but some have had success with blade baits (Vibees, Silver Buddies etc) and some are starting to take fish on bottom bounces with harnesses tipped with crawlers.

The bite is phenominal with some boats taking nearlimits and then culling through fish after fish.

Trollers seem to be concentrating in the north and east deeper water and around the islands. A variety of lures from shallow-runners to deep divers and harnesses are being used.

Area bait shops have a good supply of jigs, blades and trolling tackle.
