HAPPY LABOR DAY!

Captain Judy's Saltwater Fishing Report

Which includes:

Inshore report, Offshore Report, Freshies Suggestions, and "Little Miss Judy's Believe It or Not!" (Story)

Gulf Stream Report

I just got this report and will write in great detail next week. The bottom line is that there are dolphin to be caught and lots of them…not only that, but sailfish and sword fish to add to that! Until then here are some suggestions: If you get the weather "just go!"

Gulf Stream Suggestions

August and September are those months that aren't considered much as good times to go blue water fishing. However, if you have the chance I wouldn't rule out giving this area a try. The reason being is that you truly don't know what you might catch. Here's are a few suggestions:

The first thing I would do is to put out a high-speed lure and I would leave it out until I reached my destination. This one thing will ensure you of a hit especially if the pulled lure happens by a striking fish. You will be hooked up for sure. I will have to admit that hooking a fish while traveling at 21 knots isn't going to be pretty, but there will be some waking-up action for sure!

I would make my first place to start around and over some sort of ledge. Just to name a few in this area: Triple ledge, South Ledge, Deli Ledge, etc. These areas are going to hold the attentions of small fish, which will in turn offer up some sporting possibilities for you, are well as the larger fish population.

During this time pull anything that you want, because the stranger the better! It's not that time of year where you are trying to duplicate what a blue water fish is feeding on, because they are going to eat what happens by. During this time frame almost any bait fishes can find themselves on the menu. Whatever you do don't forget to take along some artificial deep dropping lures, because if all fails in the trolling department there is always some action to be had "down under!"
