August has brought red hot action to our area! The Tamarindo area always enjoys a mixed bag of year-around action, but this month seems to stand out by far.
Water temps have been warm and the bait has been plentiful! So plentiful that we have enjoyed large schools of Wahoo and Yellowfin just a few miles from shore. Capt. Lee Keidel of Kingpin Sportfishing reports that they were seeing multiple hook-ups on each pass, as well as several knock-downs while in idle. Also, Capt. Keidel reports catching an 80lbs+ Dorado (pic attached) as well as several Sails, Tuna and multiple Marlin. Capt. Philip Leman of Tantrum II and Capt. Adam Hermsen of Ocean Smasher reported similar action... both releasing several Sails, multiple Marlin, and seeing high numbers of Tuna, Wahoo, and Dorado!
