Kabetogama/Namakan Fishing Report 4/27/08

Lots of open water shorelines has curtailed the ice fishing season on the big lakes.

The weekend's snowstorms and cool evenings is expected to delay ice out a few days.

All indications are that the ice on Kab should be out on or before the week of opener, and Namakan should follow shortly thereafter.

The smaller lakes surrounding the area may be open for panfish somewhat earlier.

Ash River has opened into Sullivan Bay meaning Kab and Namakan can't be far behind.

Happy Spring?
