Kabetogama/Namakan Fishing Report 5/11/08

Anglers were greeted with March type weather, cold rain, snow showers and sleet. Fortunately the winds were down.

Dividends were paid in fish to the anglers who toughed it out.

Reports of incredible numbers were common, the norm was 6-12' for a strong steady bite, however most of these fish were in the protective slot between 17' ' 28'.

Depths of 28 ' 32' steadily produced smaller walleyes, 9 ' 14'.

Northern pike were aggressive and either desired or a nuisance depending on your liking. They were hitting offerings intended for walleye. We photographed on at 18# - 39'.

Sauger were scarce and very few fished crappies.

See you soon,

It was Very Nice Opener ' Fish wise,

Phil and Ellen Hart
