Fishing Report June 4, 2007 Western Basin Walleye Fishing Wild Wings Marina

We are catching Limits of Walleye fishing out of Wild Wings Marina.

Most fish are males ranging from 18 to 24 inches.

Walleye fishing this year has been out standing!

Here are some areas that are producing limit catches of walleye.

Maumee Bay dumping grounds, The gravel pits, 24 ft in front of Crane creek. Toussaint, Round , Locust Point ,Cone and Little Pickerel reefs. A, B, C, D and E cans , Scott Point Shoal.

Weapons in gold either low and slow on the retrieve or 5 to 10 count on the swing using 1/2 or 3/4 ounce weights. Bottom bouncers are producing when there is enough wind. I have been picking on the suspended fish using a 5 to 10 count.

Gold , Gold and more gold is the color my favorite set up is number 4 deep cup Colorado blade either smooth or hammered.{ I tend to lean on the smooth one.} Make the casting rig about 10 to 14 inches long, use three or four beads in gold or orange/ red and finish with a medium size hook a mustad all around sproat hook size # 4 works fine.. When fishing for suspended fish always try different methods of retrieve. Slow steady, Medium steady. Stop and go etc. Until you find out what is working the best for the day.
