Why am I here doing a fishing report in the middle of the day? How about 25 knot winds and 8 foot rollers!

This am was a beauty. We punched it out and fished some huge rollers that were spaced out and quite comfortable. We hit a few and then the wind switched and doubled in speed. It was over before it began as was the PM trip and I am home doing what I do when I am not on the boat. Another tough day thanks to Mother Nature. This year has been something Yesterday we beat them up and the day before was tough. The word for the season is inconsistent. You never know if it is your day to strike gold or be in the barrel.

When we get out, (I lost two trips today). Anglers in the Oswego, Mexico and Pulaski area have been catching salmon from 200 ft. of water inshore to 80 ft. Just east and west of Oswego the thermocline has been 80-100 ft. below the surface. A variety of bait is working... flies, spoons and j-plugs. E-Chip & Spin Doctor attractors with the Hammer, green glow, sweetpea, Big Fin glow and Mirage are all taking fish. A variety of spoons have also been working well including the old green glow NK mag, the Michigan Stinger Natural Born Killer and the Gator in the magnum and stingray size.

We obviously don't kill them everyday but have put together some very respectable catches and some big fish.

Some recent catches!
