Latest Fish Report Caboby Tracy Ehrenberg (4/03/2011)
Marlin catches are still rather slow, but our overall catch success rate was up this week. Not a great deal of action on billfish and the majority of anglers decided to go for what was more of a sure thing inshore, for yellow tail or sierra for a nice meal. Yellow tail was the top catch of the week with fifty seven percent of our boats catching between one to ten fish – most of them were caught on the Pacific side.

Despite a dip on marlin catches this week, thirty percent of our boats released striped marlin. The majority of the boats met with success in the Sea of Cortez, between the 95 spot and up as far as the Gordo Banks. The Top marlin boat this week was definitely “Tracy Ann”, with two double-header marlin days and the rest of the week one a day, with the exception of a single day when they saw them but couldn't get a hook up.

O.K. things are a bit glum on the marlin front this week and anybody telling you otherwise is not being truthful. So what's the problem, first off mackerel have not been readily available for bait, then we had full moon this week and water temperatures have been varied, combined with that is the fact that marlin are far and wide, so yes, some have been spotted but few have been tempted to eat. This is typical of March fishing, but we are in January!
Latest Fish Reportby Tracy Ehrenberg (1/20/2011)
Tuna catches are on the lead again with forty four percent of our boats catching between one to twenty two fish. We are still missing the good fishing of January for stripers like the past years, but the odd weather has made a change this year. The water is too cold that feels like March, some of our anglers had even seen some swordfish; it's early for their season.

Boats have reported seeing striped marlin, but getting them to eat was another story. This prompted anglers to go in search of the more cooperative species of tuna and dorado.

Merry Christmas to all and to all big fish!
Latest Fish Report Caboby Tracy Ehrenberg (12/14/2010)
It looks like the marlin are still not very hungry as we had a decrease this week; many of our boats saw billfish in the area but only thirty percent of around a third of charters managed hook ups. Based on this a fair amount of anglers opted to go for tuna and dorado instead.
