Got some great weather yesterday morning for some good friends of mine Sammy Gill his son in law David and "Sponge" Bob Balser and the trout were in the mood. On the way out I had a hunch with the light East winds to try spot that has produced in the past under similar conditions and hit the nail on the head. First cast 2 lb trout in the boat, stuck down and things heated up fast. Live shrimp and plastic under corks 3 ft had trout flying in the boat for awhile. Sammy hooks up and trout jumping out the water like crazy "We Got Us A Jumper Boy's" he exclaimed and we got a good laugh that was the phrase for the day every time a trout would come out of the water. The action was steady all nice fish in the 2 lb range no throwbacks. Just about a limit on ice I wanted to check a few more spots further out... David did battle with a line stretching drag screaming Jack Cravelle for awhile Fun to catch so we took a picture and returned him to the water. Got into a few more nice trout at the rigs in Black Bay finishing up our limit then tried the reds at a few points on the way in but only found a few puppy drum. With a box full of trout on ice we decided to make it an early day before the heat set in. AWESOME DAY! With good friends having a good time fishing.
