Reports of plenty of Mahi-Mahi close to the edge where coming in during the week. This prompted me to head out by myself on short notice Friday morning. There is plenty of bait at most range markers consisting of ballyhoo, threadfin herring, and blue runners. Since i was fishing solo i only ran two rods while slow trolling a nice edge around 300 feet. Go figure that when you are alone, fishing is good. In a two hour period i managed to catch numerous Skipjack Tuna and a nice Wahoo that hit a bullethead Billy Bait. As far as the Dolphin fishing goes i did not find but chatter on the radio seem to poin that the bite was to the north. This week i also heard of some reports of Sailfish showing up in the late afternoon. We have yet to receive any significant cold front but these spindlebeeks should be moving in more and more throughout the upcoming weeks as the water cools.
