Paul Aline called and asked if I could squeeze in a trip for himself and two friends Dennis and Bret for some trout and redfish. I told him if the weather cooperates sure. Well the weather was gorgeous and the Sun yes the Sun was shinning what a beautiful sight and feeling of warm sunshine. The temps were still cool and the water around 50 degree's perfect for doing the BUMP in the deep passes for speckled trout. Headed straight to the area I caught in a few days ago and Lady Luck was smiling and Paul had one in the boat first cast. Bret was putting them in regular, Dennis took a while to get warmed up but then he was hooked every other cast for awhile. Paul and I were having fun watching them and catching a few too. The bite was not fast but steady, and the fish were mixed in size not as big as a few days ago 13 to 17 inches typical winter trout. Old Bayside mud Minnows in chartreuse was the best color fished slow dead on the bottom. It had been a long time since I had fished with Paul so we did some catching up while catching trout along with lot's of laugh's. Great day on the water, good to see the sun again too. I tried to get some reds but only found 1 small one along the shore, maybe next trip we will get the reds.
