Jason Johnson traveled to Hopedale all by himself this trip from Pensacola Fl he had request to do some TOPWATER fishing for trout and reds this time in stead of the live bait. Well we had some strong winds from the west which were not ideal for top water but we were going to give it our best. I took us to an area I knew held trout and reds and fished the protected side of the islands out of the wind. We worked the area slowly getting a good number of blow ups and put almost one limit of trout on ice with Skitter walks and Top Pups. As the morning wore on we switched to some soft plastics and a few live shrimp to finish out our limit of trout. We then headed to the ponds in search of redfish armed with gold spoons. They were elusive but we managed a couple to top off a great trip in less than ideal conditions
