Well, the heat goes on here in Texas. The rain has left this area for ever. The lake is falling like a rock. I have not fished this week and am glad of it. The mornings have not been to bad but by the 11 am hour it is so hot all you can do is get inside. I have tried to do things outside around noon but the heat is to intense. I have heard the fishing has improved very early and late. There has been some schooling during the middle of the day. The brave hearted who have stayed out in the heat have been rewarded. Keep a lipless crank bait handy for the surfacing fish. Fish the grass early with Lake Fork Tackle Zig Zags weightless and Lake Fork Tackle Twitch worms wacky style. The Texas rig Lake Fork Tackle Baby Ring Fry has been good around grass.

The Wave Baby Tiki stick is another good Carolina rig bait. Out deep the Twitch worm has been good on the drop shot and Carolina rigs. Swim baits have been productive on the suspended fish. I have not talked to anyone who has crappie fished and am not sure what to tell you. I know the bridges should be holding some fish. Remember the mornings are cool and the fishing can be great. Drink plenty of water and put on your sun screen. Hopefully the temps will start to fall and the days will cool off and the fishing will explode.

I have September dates open if you want to get out and get a pattern for the Mc Donald tournament. Give me a call.
