May is here and the shad run is going strong. There are fish schooling on

main river points and shell beds and the topwater bite is as good as it gets.

We had a couple 40 fish days this week and we had one tough day with

only 10 fish caught and this was a live bait trip. The artificial bite is much better

then shiners at this time.A Highroller 3.25 has been deadly all week when cast

into these big schooling fish. Also the new Bitters Swim bait has worked well

for us all week.A C Rig worked slowly around the main river shell beds will get

you some big bites this time of the year on the St Johns River.I still have days open in May and if you are looking for some of the best Summertime Trophy Bass

Fishing in the state of Florida the St Johns River is the place to BE.

Take a look at our 2009 Trophy Page for Last May and June and you will see

what I'm talking about as my clients caught 7 fish between 10 and 12.8 pounds

during these two months last year.
