The lake is 168.5 ft msl and rising with more rain expected tomorrow, high pool is 172 ft msl. The lake is up over four feet from a month ago and six foot higher compared to this time last year. The very north end of the main lake is muddy along with the feeder creeks. The main lake around Huxley and going south is stained. If we get the rain that they are predicting in the next couple days, we could very well be at high pool next week.

The rising water has slowed the Crappie fishing down but the lake is clearing fast since no water is being released and once things settle down, the bite should pick up. Prior to the rise, there is no telling how many Crappie were put into ice chests the past two months. Just at Huxley Bay marina, they were selling forty to fifty pounds of shiners a day. You'll still be able to fish the river shelf and ledges but with the rising water a lot of Crappie will start moving into the deeper feeder creeks.

The White and Yellow bass are on the move heading north to the river proper. Work the north area main lake river sand-bars with slab spoons. I haven't gotten any reports or fished the river proper yet but it wouldn't surprise me if some schools haven't already moved into the southern areas of the river.

Not many reports on the black bass but look for the bass to move up with the rising water. A spinner bait slow rolled or a jig and pig fished shallow to deep along drops should pick up some fish.
