The Black Bass have been keying on main lake and secondary points (11/22/2007)
[Toldeo Bend,TX] The White bass have also been scattered and we've had to cover a lot of water to get a good mess of fish. Work the old river channel sand bars with slab spoons and tail spinners.
Generators Are Shut Down On The Lake (10/11/2007)
[Toldeo Bend,TX] The lake is 167.95 ft msl; high pool is 172 ft msl. Both generators are shut down in accordance with the new operating guidelines. Once the lake level reaches 168msl generation ceases.
Toledo Bend Fall Fishing Coming Up (9/06/2007)
[Toldeo Bend,TX] The lake is 170.6 ft msl, (high pool is 172ft). SRA has both generators running from 12pm to 7pm. Water temp is running in the mid to upper 80s. The water clarity is stained on the very north end and running clear as you go south. The hyacinth is still causing some problems along the shoreline and in the back of the coves and pockets.
Catching Bass In Toledo Bend (5/09/2007)
[Toldeo Bend,TX] The month of May can always be a challenging month in catching bass. The spawn is over and the bass are in transition gradually moving from the spawning areas into deeper water as the water continues to warm.
White Bass Fishing Toledo Bend (4/26/2007)
[Toldeo Bend,TX] The lake is 170.8 ft. msl, high pool is 172 ft msl, both generators are shut down and the lake is holding steady. We received about an inch of rainlast night and expecting some more rain tonight. If SRA keeps both generators closed, the lake should be on a rise. The north end of the lake is stained to clear from high winds. Water temps are running in the upper 60s.

[Toldeo Bend,TX] The lake is 170.1 ft. msl, high pool is 172 ft msl, both generators are shut down and the lake is holding steady. The north end of the lake is stained to clear. Water temps are running in the mid 60s. High winds the last couple three weeks have caused most of our problems.
Extremely Cold In Toledo Bend (2/22/2007)
[Toldeo Bend,TX] We've had some extremely cold weather and high winds the last couple weeks resulting in below normal temperatures for this time of year.
White Bass Fishing On Road Runners and Rattle Traps (2/07/2007)
[Toldeo Bend,TX] The fishing is starting to bust wide open. We've been fishing mostly for White Bass in the river and waiting for the main lake to settle down from all the fresh water and cold temperatures. Last week we were catching a lot of Whites in the flooded sloughs on Road Runners and Rattle traps but the river started falling fast and moved them into the river proper.
Cold Water And Strong Winds (1/28/2007)
[Toldeo Bend,TX] As expected, the last couple three weeks with all the fresh water, rising lake conditions, cold water temperatures and strong winds haveresulted in very difficult fishing conditions across the board except for the Cat-fishermen. The Crappie have scattered from the main lakeriver channel locations. The Blacks have "lockjaw" and the Whites are starting to move into the main river proper beginning their annualriver run.
Bite Should Be Picking Up With Rising Water (1/03/2007)
[Toldeo Bend,TX] The rising water has slowed the Crappie fishing down but the lake is clearing fast since no water is being released and once things settle down, the bite should pick up. Prior to the rise, there is no telling how many Crappie were put into ice chests the past two months
Toledo Bend Black Bass Fishing (12/11/2006)
[Toldeo Bend,TX] The lake is 164.7 ft msl, high pool is 172 ft msl. The water temperature has been gradually falling and is running in the lower to middle 50s with another strong cold front moving in tonight. The north end of the main lake is stained to clear.
Toledo Bend Crappie Fishing (11/27/2006)
[Toldeo Bend,TX] The lake is 164.9 ft msl, high pool is 172 ft msl. The water temperature has been gradually falling and is running in the upper 50s. The north end of the main lake is stained with the feeder creeks muddy. The fog has been very thick a few mornings and a good GPS marking your route and fishing holes is a necessity if you get out on the lake in these conditions.
Crappie Are Stacked Up In Toledo Bend (11/09/2006)
[Toldeo Bend,TX] The fishing has really picked up with the cooling water temperature. The Crappie fishing has been improving everyday. Usually by this time, the Crappie are stacked up and we're loading up the boat but we've had such warm weather and such a large influx of freshwater, the Crappie are still scattered for what it should be for this time of the year.
Toledo Bend White Bass Fishing Is Great (10/25/2006)
[Toldeo Bend,TX] The lake is 163.9 ft msl up almost three feet in the last week and still slowly rising, high pool is 172 ft msl. The water temperature has been running in the mid 70s but is slowly dropping with the recent cooling weather. The north end of the main lake is stained with the feeder creeks muddy.

[Toldeo Bend,TX] The lake is 161.9 ft msl (record low); high pool is 172 ft msl. The lake is two feet lower compared to this time last year. This equates to a 40% reduction in total water volume. The north end of the lake is stained and clearing as you go south.
