Had to weigh todays options...fish the reach to start the day with a nice outgoing and hope the wind didn't go south or Ambrose and fight the current and ships in the fog. The first option seemed the best to start the day. Had a nice pick going on a .5 to .7 knot drift. Way too many shorts with an occasional keeper coming aboard, thought things were going to be perfect..naturally, a tug and barge and 2 ships put the kibash to that. Caught 2 shorts after the traffic went through. Ran out to Ambrose for the last of the outgoing, had a good pick on shorts and keepers. Worked the deep and the edge. Change of tide bite was O.K. with some good action on shorts and keepers. Finished up on the knoll with a nice pick on shorts and an odd keeper... Had the rules not changed it would have been a banner day!! Capt. Ron
