Lousy conditions to start the morning, outgoing water on top and the start of the flood on the bottom, SE breeze. Not much of a bite for the first hour. Once the tide started to run in we had a nice drift, not too fast, just right, the bite was on. Had to keep working further East to get away from the traffic, didn't work as we got swamp every time we moved. No matter, fishing was good but the keeper ratio is going down. Way too many beautifull FAT fish at 17- 17 1/2 going back to be sold in the foodtown. This joke has to stop! When you catch 30 fish and get lucky to put a keeper or two in the bucket is a discrace!! The fish are hungry and many are gut hooked. We do the best we can to try and save them, but you know how that goes. Pool fish today was 5 pounds. The keepers are just making 18 inches, the huge amount of big fish from last week have moved through, by the time the next shot of big fish come out...we will be finished for the season, such a shame and a big mistake from the powers that be!! Did you know that the scientist who did the re-study wanted to allocate 21 million pounds for next years quota. Said overfishing is not happining and the fish are not overfished...Ms. Kurkle, NMFS had a hissy fit and said, we should only allocated 17 million pounds, they had a compromise, much to her dismay, and settled on 18.5 million for next season. This woman has a vendetta for some reason and should not be the head of a very powerfull organization, that effects peoples livelyhoods! Also, we haven't heard from Lee Crockett and all his retoric, what's up with that? How about, we're sorry and will try to make things right since we've stuck it too you for so long. NO, I'm sure they're thinking of new ways to screw us!! Capt.ron
