It's that time of year again, fall fishing. I find myself repeating the same report as past years...With the huge influx of Dogfish to local waters, the bait fishing becomes impossible. We are now fortunate enough that the jig fishing is getting hot. Yes, many of the fish are Blues, (only until the water cools enough that they take thier leave), but the bass are there and we catch them everyday. Please bring the proper rods and tackle that can handle these fish, it kills me when we have to gaff fish only to have a customer say they don't want them, gaff a 4 pound bluefish, are you kidding me!!! Hell, I can remember when guys were swinging 10 and 12 pound fish. Noodle rods don't make it, the fact that you have to walk half way around the boat causing havoc for a 6 pound fish is not the way to go. Like I've said in the past, we target Bass, the bass eat with the blues, if I could separate them and only make the bass bite, I'd be rich! Right now that's not gonna happen so please, bring heavier rods with at least 30 lb. test....swing'em and if you don't want them, toss'em back. Today, we ended up with a barrel of fish no one wanted. One of the best fighting fish in the ocean that gets no respect!!

Who say's I'm not an enviromentalist!!!
