We are still having some cold weather and quite a bit of wind this past week in North Florida.

I'm looking for the Sheepshead to turn on when the water warms a little. Right now for me they are a little spotty

Still plenty of Trout and Blue fish to catch and the Reds are starting to get more active. They can still be hard to catch but as the water warms up they will have to feed more often.

On a trip a few days ago we float fished with live shrimp catching a Blue fish or a Trout almost every drift. We also caught 6 small Black Drum and one bonus fish. When the cork went down and the hook was set I was sure by the way it was taking line it was nothing that we had caught so far that morning.

It ended up being a 10 pound Sheepshead and a fish like that can pull some string. That was a nice bonus to an already very productive morning.

Tight lines. Capt. James Howard Jacksonville Florida

Bio: Being a native of Northeast Florida I have enjoyed the excellent fishing and wildlife this area has to offer. I have been fishing the Jacksonville Florida area over 30 years with many a memorable fishing trip starting when I was a kid. We are in between and only minutes away from Amelia Island and St. Augustine, we can enjoy the fishing any direction. From downtown to the mouth of the ocean and all the back water in between.
