Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 8/7/11

The clouds and rain finally affected the fish in a positive way this past week. The first few days of the week fishing was tough and bites were scarce. The weather changed and the rain and clouds and cooler weather started to gather the fish and move them to the grass. It was not an immediate change but by the time the third overcast day in a row the fish were extremely active.

I believe this might be the early beginning of the bass moving up into the grass to feed and the fall bite is close. We struggled early in the week but by Saturday we caught plenty of fish there was some good size and we were getting bites on several different presentations.

Swim baits were producing bites and most the better fish were hitting them pretty well as the end of the week rolled on. Hopefully we have made a transition to some better times and we can finally get back to some pretty good fishing.
