Pretty tough conditions but we made a decent running of it..got down to Venice into a tropical low that was forming off the coast..we stalled out trip out a few hours but ran around squalls using the GPS SatXM weather..they were moving so fast that the system couldnt update quick enough and plenty of times we found ourselves under the cover of rain..hey at least it was cool..spent the first part of the trip jigging ovcer some wrecks..this yielded a limit of snapper 3 grouper and many jacks which we released..with abut an hour of daylight we made it to stop one on the tuna tour..picked up 2 forty pound yellowes before the bite went dead..Just as Leger warned the tuna bite at night has been off..we plugged away and managed to assemble a stout catch of blackfin..keeping one real large one..the wind really started crankinbg aboiut midnight even though no stroms were present..anyway..this is a first..customer suggested we tie off to a bouy and wait till morning..sounded good only we couldnt stay flat enough to lay in bed for any reasonable period before findign our selves saideways and on the deck..we got back tot he rig asbout sunup and boxed another 40 pound fish..one we had lost earlier int he evening..it cam back complete with oiut leader and hook..morning bite was pretty good going 3-5 on live baits and 1-2 trolling catching our largest, an 80 pounder on a marlin bait..headed in after filling the overnight box with 7 yellowfins..Pictured are Eddie and Phat..
