Ventured out today on our second trip of the season, with Matt and Johhny...a little slower than Sunday but some surprizes.

Fished the last of the incoming, through almost the bottom of the outgoing in the Navesink and Shrewsbury Rivers water temp 44'

Started up the Navesink where we were on Sunday, first drop one short Flounder.

Second drop a bit farther up the river started having action after about 30 minutes, started with a short Striper 19" followed by 6 Flounder, 2 shorts and 4 keepers to 15", then two more short Stripers 16 & 18".

Action died, was gearing up to change positions and had three small Sripers 12'-14" follow up one of the chum pots.

Rode up into the Shrewsbury and finished the day with two mre drops yielding 5 more keeper Flounder to 16" and 8 throw backs.

All in all a great day n the water, the Stripers are a welcome sign indeed.

Back at it tomorrow
