The frog fishing on the thick mats of grass is really starting to kick into high gear. The last couple of trips that I have done my clients and I have had 20 to 30 + bites a day and are catching a lot of good quality fish. The last 3 trips that I have done consisted of a 1/2 day trip were we boated 14 fish and had 10 of them that were 3 3/4 pounds and up to 5 pounds. 8 of which were 4 to 4 1/4 pound fish. The next day we fished a full day and had around 40 bites and the size really varied. We had some that were only a pound and had some on up to 6 + or - pounds to our best estimates. We did boat 14 fish that were all around 4 pounds apiece. Today's trip was a little tougher. The storms that passed through with the high winds yesterday evening really played a toll on my mats. The rain beat them down and they had a lot of water standing on them, which is not a goof thing. We had around 20 bites and only boated 12 fish. The size was really lacking their ro. The biggest was maybe 3 3/4 pound.
Over the course of the next mat the fishing will really improve as more and more of the grass dies out.
If these sounds like your type of fishing than book your day now before the season fills up.
Good luck and see you on the water.
