Headed out today with David Shepelsky and sons Josh and Matt to do a little Sea Bassin and maybe a little Porgy action. Left at 5:45 and set the compass south east to the nasty stuff. Hit my spot and marked fish right away and had constant action on the Seabastians. Josh had the hot hand in the morning boxing keeper bass right away.....then the fun began! I decided to fish a little bit so i put on a nice large squid head and sent it down. 5 minutes later.... A 5lb Fluke is on the deck....not bad!....caught a legal fluke and decided to make some strips for the guys to get some fluke. Put an 8 inch strip on my hook and sent it down....i feel the pick up and give it some slack....hand my rod to Dave and tell him to set the hook!....my rod doubles over and its game on!....after a nice fight and some head shaking, i grab the net and slide it under the fish just as its head comes out of the water and it bites my 30lb leader off!!!!! Luckily it falls right into the net!....After all is said we nailed a mess of Seabass, some Porgies, a 5lb Fluke and a FAT 10lb 2oz 29 inch Doormat!!!!!!!!!!!!! The guys were stoked and i was very happy for their excellent day!
