We had some beautiful weather last week and the fishing was as good as the weather!!!

The Speckled Trout are still very thick even though a lot of them are under the slot size you will catch plenty enough that are legal if you want to eat a few…

The Yellow-mouth Trout have also started to show up in big numbers. The Yellow-mouth are a 12 inch minimum and a bag limit of 4 per person and the Speckled Trout are a minimum of 15 inches with one fish per person over 20 inches and a bag limit of 5 per person.

The small Reds AKA Rat Reds are schooled up and are feeding non stop. There is also some 20 inch Reds mixed in with them.

I've told you how I fish the Trout this time of year using a 4 inch curl tail plastic with a quarter ounce jig head. Once you find the Trout you have to get the bait on the bottom and work it very very very slow. A lot of times they will hit it 4 or 5 times before they get it so just let them bend the rod before you set the hook.

On a trip December the 17th with John Sexton and his friend from Atlanta it was again 4 hours of non stop Trout action. We ended up catching at least 40 Trout and they keep what they wanted for dinner…

Thanks for a great time guys.
