Summer heat is here fish early to beat the heat. Inshore fishing action is great we have a bunch of snook roaming the outside islands and creek mouths, fish a moving tide for best action. Live green backs for fast action. Red fish are holding all over the back waters from the outside islands to the back creeks. High outgoing tide has been my best bite for reds, live and dead bait will do the trick. I like to start off with live green backs and pin fish and if the bite is slow try some fresh cut mullet rigged on a 2/0 circle hook. We also have a good amount of small tarpon in the back water ponds, use a light 20 pound leader and a 1/0 circle hook.

On the nearshore rocks the mangrove snapper bite is very good we are catching some beautiful snappers from 12 to 20 inches along with grunts, flounders, cobia and some keeper gag grouper. Trout are scattered in 10 to 12 feet of water, use a 1/4 ounce jig head with a little Jon soft plastic in white, root beer, chartreuse bounce the jig slowly across the bottom with a light rod tip twitch.

Scallop are very plentiful with limits coming in fast. We are doing great North of Bay port in 4 to 6 feet of water remember to fly the diver down flag.

Stop into Precision Tackle for all your inshore needs.

Book your fishing, scalloping or do a combo fishing and scalloping trip before the season ends.
