Charters out of Wild Wings Marina, near Oak Harbor, Ohio, continue to take limits of walleye despite large Mayfly hatches.

The walleye, the majority from the near record 2003 hatch, are throughout the Western Basin from the Michigan shore to the island area, but a huge school is concentrated near the Canadian border, southeast of Middle Sister Island.

Worm harnesses and weight-forward spinners have been very effective when drifters cast them or drift them behind in-line weights or bottom bouncers. Trollers are using harnesses and spoons on jet divers and dipsies and a variety of crank baits.

The bite should continue as long as weather conditions
