The fishing has been good to say the least. The Flounder are steady on there move in and the larger Trout are starting to show up in some of my spring areas also.

I have heard some great reports on the Cobia on the beach also the last week or so. I have actually been catching some Spanish up in the river so that tells me they are probably thick at the jetties.

There is also plenty of Sheepshead in the river and at the jetties and I have been seeing plenty of them on my Flounder gigging trips. They are a little harder to gig because they are almost always moving and stay very alert unlike the Flounder that lay up and wait for bait to swim up to them.

I have stuck some decent Flounder the last two weeks but there have been a lot more small fish than decent fish but that's a good sing that there are plenty of Flounder in our area. I try to stick the 2lb and up fish. So my numbers haven't been large but I'm getting enough to make everyone happy.

The Reds are off the charts in the creeks from 12 inches to 30 inches it is wide open. Crabs/shrimp and minnows have all been working on the Reds…

Bio: Being a native of Northeast Florida I have enjoyed the excellent fishing and wildlife this area has to offer. I have been fishing the Jacksonville Florida area over 30 years with many a memorable fishing trip starting when I was a kid. We are in between and only minutes away from Amelia Island and St. Augustine, we can enjoy the fishing any direction. From downtown to the mouth of the ocean and all the back water in between.
