After catching stripers drifting in 20 - 4 feet of water, which is unusual for this late in the season, the fish have finally migrated to deeper water where they are normally found this time of year. We have been fishing in 60 - 80 feet of water with live shad. It seems we often "start" the fish at 60 feet. As they "load up" under the boat, we can raise our baits to 40 feet. We have been fishing from the damn to Washita point.
