Mattern Guide Service on Sam Rayburn & Lake Fairfield

Hello Everybody,

Matthew 25: Verses 34-36; Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, you blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

For I was hungry, and you gave me meat: I was thirsty and you gave me drink: I was a stranger and you took me in:

Naked and you clothed me: I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison, and you came unto me.

SAM RAYBURN: Bass up to almost 10 lbs. came in this week with alot of solid Bass in the 4-5 lb. range. The LIpless crankbaits in reds were still the biggest producers. Fished in 2-10 feet around the grass.

Water temps are near 60 but this cold front might move them down a little but it is supposed to warm up right away for Thursday and Friday. Bass are staging for the spawn and it is about to bust loose with a few more warm days.

Big Jigs in your darker colors have caught some real Big Bass 8-10 lbs. Black and blue being the best. Worked near drops or breaks lines near spawning flats.

Caroliona rigged craw-worms and lizards have been doing well working the same way.Good colors were watermelons and green pumpkins and junebugs and black & blues

Now is the time to get your guide trip booked in. Give me a call or go to matternguideservice.fghp.com, my webpage it has all the rates and info on my Guide service.

LAKE FAIRFIELD: Well I finally pulled off Sam Rayburn a few days to get on Fairfield for a Guide trip with Thomas Ayers from Buffalo, Texas. Bass are in the full spawn right now with beat up tails. The high winds hindered us alot but we made the best of it and came out with 13 keepers almost to 5 lbs. Bass were hitting Nichols salty mother sinkers in green pumpkin pepper rigged wacky stlye and Texas rigged creature baits in watermelon candy worked in 2-4 feet.

Water temps averaged about 68 degrees all over the Lake. The Lake is down about 5 feet from full pool but the ramp is still in good shape.Just watch the rocks in the middle of the ramp as you go back about 5-15 feet. Real safe to hug the pier side of ramp.

Redfish are hitting live perch fished in 20 feet of water up to about 6-7 lbs.

Give me an e-mail or phone call at 903-478-2633 to book your trip. I will be on Lake Palestine Thursday so I will have a report on this great Lake also later, then back on Rayburn on Saturday for an update first of next week. God bless all of you and don't forget my sponsors who furnish alot of great baits to catch those green fish. Don Mattern Sr.
