Mattern Guide Service on Sam Rayburn & Palestine

Hello Everybody,

Philippians 4: Verses 6-7:

Be careful(Worried), for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

And the PEACE of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ JESUS.

Well February is Big Bass Month. Already a 15.98 was caught out of Lake Conroe, I heard, Friday. I believed they said it was the new Lake record Bass.

More Big Bass will be staging or moving up towards the spawning flats and holding along slighty deeper water than the flats where eventually they will move up to spawn.

SAM RAYBURN; Lake Level is at 157.98, about 7-8 feet low. Water is in good shape with water temps running in the low to mid 50's. Bass are good up to 7 lbs. right now with about 7- 10 bites a day being a great day.

Fewer bites but Bigger Bass as the Bigger female Bass are showing up more and more. Several that were caught this week had big ole softball bellies on them.

Bass are hitting Spinnerbaits and rattle traps worked along coves areas about 3/4 of the way back in them out to the mouths of the same coves. Great sacks are comming in this manner.

Carolina rigged Creature Baits and Lizards in Watermelon and Green Pumpkins worked along drains into these coves from 15 to 7 feet deep going in have been producing some great sacks for the tournament guys.

I am already booking trips in Feb-April as the calls are comming in. Be sure and get you date set for the time you can fish and e-mail me or call me at 903-478-2633 or 903-724-0961 so I can book you in.

LAKE PALESTINE: Lake level is at 344.71 about 1-2 feet below full pool. The water temps are running from 45-50 and the bite is a little tougher than Big Sam.

3-5 bites a day are the norm. Slow rolled spinnerbaits worked along the creek channels are catching some great Bass up to 6.5 lbs. Also Texas rigged creature baits in Junebug, Black emerald & watermelon green orange have been working along these same channels as well as along the boat houses.

Trips have been calling in for Feb - April bookings. Be sure and e-mail me or call me at 903-478-2633 or 903-724-0961 to get your Guided Trip booked in on the date that is convient for you.
