Lake Norman is the place to be for action as it relates to four to ten pound stripers. To add to this enjoyment, I suggest you use lite action rods and fill your bait casting reels with ten pound test line, with the drag set at four pounds. The limit is four fish per person per day and under current conditions this is not too hard to accomplish. Shad is the nature bait and thus, will be the most productive bait but, shiners, bream and trout will get their fair share of bites.

Fish Species: Stripers
Bait Used: Gizzard shad
Tackle Used: Lt. Action
Method Used: Trolling
Water Depth: 30
Water Temperature: 55
Wind Direction: SW
Wind Speed: 5
