North Carolina's inshore fishing is off to a good start with Speckle trout & flounder biting just south of Snow's Cut in the Cape Fear River. Capt.Mike Dennis the "Cape Fear Guide" found the fish to biting using live bait on Carolina rigs.

The Cape Fear River is a great fishery for flounder, speckle trout one reason is the large amount of shrimp, menhaden and other small forage bait fish that are constantly moving with the tides throughout the lower Cape Fear River.

Fishing the rising tide in some of the flooded bays on a full moon is a great way to catch these speckle trout.
