Fishing with Joe Tanner and his friend Patrick who were in town for the Florida Georgia game on Friday the 31st it was hit and run… We started off in the creeks trying to get the Red fish to eat and that just wasn't going to work…

Besides the wind blowing 15 to 20 the fish just weren't feeding so it was off to the river to throw some deep water plastics to try to locate some feeding fish!!!

We managed to catch a few Trout and some Blue fish but the wind was relentless…

It was starting to look like one of those sore shoulder days from 1000 casts with only a few fish to show for all the hard work. We were about to head back to the dock when I decided to hit one more spot that was out of the wind but had not been producing fish for me in recent days.

First cast with a spinner bait and Joe was hooked up with a line burning Red fish. It was about 30 seconds of pure joy and then the fish was gone. Disappointed but encouraged we started working the rock pile hard. Only one more Red fish that was a third the size of the first one but the Flounder were laid up…

We finished up catching 11 Flounder in the 3 to 5 lb range. What a way to salvage the trip. After the 2nd Flounder we caught on plastic I switched to finger Mullet and it was on. You either hooked a Flounder or you lost a jig. A jig is worth a fish to me every time. They were laid up in the rocks and they weren't small rocks or small fish!!!
