We are seeing high water levels again on the St Johns River due to the afternoon rain storms we are having. This is the best thing that can happen during the summer months as this freshwater cools the water temps a few degrees and keeps the fish active.Main River shellbeds and main river points have been the key areas for schooling fish.Rattle Traps and as always a Bitters Bait and Tackle 7.5 Junebug Blue Tail Worm are my go to baits at this time.Flipping a Bitters JuneBug Blue Craw in the main river pad fields is also producing some nice fish to 8 pounds. If you recall my reports from last Sept and Oct we had some of the best bass fishing I have ever seen on the St Johns River with 50 to 70 fish days all being caught on artificial baits. With the water on the rise I expect the same for this Sept and Oct.
