The fishing can't get any better. The past three days I have been on the water and the fish are eating it up!! I don't get to fish much during the winter when I am guiding but this time of the year when business slows down I am on the water everyday by myself or with a friend. On Saturday I caught about 20 fish before 10 am and was off the water just in time to miss the big storm that came through at 10:30 am.I caught two fish just over 8 pounds and many in the 3 to 5 lb range.I fished a C Rigged Bitters Junebug Blue Tail Worm the whole morning. No picture's of this trip as I just can't figure out how to hold a big fish and take the picture at the same time.Today I didn't have a trip booked so I called my good buddy Gary Clark who lives on Lake Toho in Kissimmee FL and ask him to join me. I made the mistake this morning of telling Gary we needed a few pictures of big fish.Ha First big fish I have hooked I play with him around the boat a little to long and he just comes unhooked and swims a way.No problem as I know there are plenty more,Second big fish I have hooked pulls me into the cover and breaks my 16 lb mono, now we start catching some nice fish in the 3 to 5 pound range and I am telling Gary we really need to get serious about catching a big picture fish.Three hours later I set the hook on a monster fish that pulls drag swims out into open water and jumps and you know the rest of that story. Needless to say we didn't catch a fish over 5 pounds for a picture. I won't tell Gary's story but I will say I heard him grunt a few times in the back of the boat today when setting the hook.No Trophy Fish today but a great day on the water with a best friend.O and to make matters worst my good friend Hank G pulled up beside me and told us the story about the 10 pounder he had just caught a few minutes earlier up the river from us. Hank was by himself and couldn't figure out the picture by yourself deal either.Hanks Grandson Lil David Gallagher age 8 caught an 11 pounder yesterday fishing a worm.I hope to have a picture to post soon. The little man could not hold the fish up for the picture with out his Pa Pa helping.I am taking my grandson Devon bass fishing for the first time tomorrow. He said he is tired of catching bream and ready for the big boys he is only 5 so this could be an interesting morning.
