February has arrived, hopefully this month is not as wet as January. So far the past week has provided dryer conditions and cooler temps. Plenty of fish roaming around ready to eat.
The snook have responded to the warm stretch we had, docsks and sea walls have been great areas to locate the snook. Holes and mangrove edges on the low tide providing action as well. Live bait and Rapala X raps, bait of choice. The snook have been small, hopefully as water temperatures warm the bigger fish start to show.
Jacks and bluefish have been the dominant species as of late. Cooler water temps and rough conditions offhsore have pushed these fish into deep holes and channel edges. Fishing freshwater weekly I don’t talk much about it due to saltwater always being the favorite style for anglers. Largemouth bass bite has been great along with crappie . DOA Curl tail jigs worked along grass line edges have been the key to success.
