The backwaters of the Cape Fear River has been holding a few red drum, bite has been scattered throughout the tide range, mostly on the latter stage of the falling tide. This past week the water has muddy up, bite has slowed, really had to work hard to find fish.I found moving out to the islands in the Cape Fear River where the menhaden were schooling, found the red drum and flounder holding on the points.
