8/26 I know this is starting to sound repetitive, but it is ON FIRE! The big redfish are eating everything you get in front of them. Topwater plugs, Rip Tide jerkbaits, and flies have been very productive. My good friend and great guide Capt. Scott Macalla, set up a 10 boat charter today. I am happy to report that everyone was treated to excellent fishing. Gordon and Tom were on my boat and caught some giant redfish. Now is the time to GET YOURS!

8/23 Bobby and Andrew fished with me today for the first time on the lagoon. They definitely picked the time to go, since the bite is red hot right now. Fishing with pinfish, they caught giant redfish everytime they put a cast in front of the school. They boated at least 8 redfish and hooked many more during the feeding frenzy. The bite is on!

8/22 Today I had the opportunity to fish with PGA tour golfer Chris DiMarco again. Only 2 days after the PGA Championship, he was on the water catching giant redfish out of a school of over 400 fish. The fish ate everything we had, including topwater plugs. Great day on the water with one of the nicest guys you could have the pleasure of fishing with. Chris is off to the Ryder Cup in 2 weeks, so GO USA!

8/20 Mark Lowrey brought his sons David and Brian for a morning of fishing today. We caught plenty of trout and ladyfish on Rip Tide jerkbaits to get the rust out, but the highlight of the trip was the big reds. They got to see their first school of giant tailing reds and with a little patience, got one on a live pinfish.

8/17 Had a great morning with Scott Newman on the lagoon . We caught a mixed bag of reds and trout in the morning and ended up fishing a giant school of 10 lb jack crevalle with topwater plugs and Rip Tide soft plastics to end the day.

8/14 After doing some tuna fishing over the weekend, I was back on the lagoon Monday. Rick Pion from San Diego, CA. joined me for his first trip on Mosquito Lagoon. After some bad weather in the morning blew through, Rick caught 2 monster redfish and some slot reds and trout. The biggest fish was over 40 lbs and the 2nd biggest was around 35 lbs. Awesome morning!

8/10 Guy and Crystal Stephens of Winter Springs joined me for their first guided trip on the lagoon . We had a mixed bag today of big trout, redfish, and a 17 lb black drum. Fish were caught on pinfish, Rip Tide soft plastics and shrimp jigs. Caught close to 20 fish in 4 hours. Great morning!

Bio: Having grown up in Stuart, FL., (The Sailfish Capitol of the World), it seems only fitting that Capt. Jon would end up guiding on the Mosquito Lagoon, (The Redfish Capitol of the World). Fishing has been a passion of Capt. Jon's for over 25 years. His love for the sport, as well as his respect for the estuary he fishes, grows each day spent on the water. "Clients ask me how I can still get 'the shakes' while poling up to a school of tailing redfish," " I love what I do, and take pride in being good at it." Capt. Jon's passion for fishing has taken him many different places in search of angling opportunities. Fishing the Louisiana coast for redfish and speckled trout, Sebastian Inlet for snook, the Florida Keys for bonefish and permit, and Boca Grande pass for giant tarpon are some of the destinations he has gained valuable fishing experience.
