The wind is blowing and temperature dropped but the Trout are still bunched up!!!

There has to be hundreds of the small Trout in several areas I fish in the ICW right now and they should be there most all winter. Like I've said before the average size is small but when you catch one every cast who cares!

And out of the 50 to 60 you catch in 4 hrs you will always mix in a few for frying pan...

You will catch 10 in the 13 inch range and all the sudden you will band a couple nice ones. It's a great way to spend a winter day on the water in North Florida. And also a great time to bring your young children. They want get hot and they want be bored and they will catch plenty off fish…

There is also the occasional Sheepshead on the shell drops that I Trout fish on. It's always neat to catch one on plastic bait.

I haven't fished for the Reds or the Sheepshead the last few trips but they are doing well also. When you tell people we can probably catch at least 40 Trout or we can go catch 4 or 5 reds they usually go for the Trout. I don't blame them. Bending a rod for the whole trip would be my favorite to.

Thanks to Thomas Porter and his father-in-law for one of those 40 fish Trout trips on the 9th last week.
