I had the chance to do some fun fishing the last couple of days with some good friends from lower Michigan; Dale Whaley and John Brockway . We did a lot of casting for pike with spinnerbaits, tossed tubes for smallies, and of course I had to take them walleye fishing for table fare. We didn't have as much luck pike fishing as I thought we should have, but the size of the smallies more than made up for it. Most of the smallmouth we landed averaged 3 to 4 lbs., and we lost a few that were easily over 20 inches. Like Baitshop Guy says...it's an "addiction". We were having so much fun with the bass that we didn't head to our walleye location as soon as I wanted, but it didn't matter because the walleyes were biting pretty darn good. We had several doubles, a triple, and lost several fish at the boat. Winds were a little more brutal today so we came in early. Fish were not as cooperative either with the passing of the cold front and strong west winds. Good luck from all of us in the Bay de Noc area.
