I was able to slip in a gigging trip and a fishing trip before the blow started this past Saturday. We did actually have some low tides for a change. I think the full moon helped as far as the low tide…

The water is still very dirty so the gigging has been tuff to say the least. But there are some nice Flounder to be had. We had to move several times to find water clean enough to see but we did manage to stick 6 fish with two solid 4 pound Flounder.

Six fish doesn't sound like much but the conditions have been so bad for two months now that sticking six Flounder isn't as bad as it sounds!!!

Fishing the creeks Saturday morning with jig heads and shrimp it was Rat Reds every where we went. When I say Rat Reds I mean Red fish in the 10 to 15 inch range. They are a lot of fun to catch on light tackle…

One thing about them is if they are there it is every cast. It is hard not to want to keep catching them when they are feeding like that. If you don't care about taking one home to eat it is a great way to spend 4 hrs on the water. We also caught several small Trout and 2 small Flounder.
