It has been a long winter here in Tampa bay. I don't think I would be wrong in saying we are all just ready for spring. Well spring is here and Tampa bay fishing is heating up.

On my last few outings its been a real treat to be able to catch some fish larger than just a couple of pounds. Much larger I must say in the 40 to 50 pound range. The best part about it,is that it has been in shallow water on light tackle.

Using artificial baits on light tackle spinning gear my clients were able to land some beautiful Black Drum. On the same trip they were able to catch some speckled trout.

On another of my trips the guys caught some nice trout but by passed my offer of Black Drum and opted to catch some healthy Red Fish aka Red drum. While fishing the Red fish they were able to pick up a nice sheepshead off of the same oyster bed the Red's were feeding on.

Things are really getting good and I only expect it to get better as our days stay warmer and our weather stabilizes.

Thank you for reading and be sure to check my web site for more information.
