The past week I have been fishing the Winter Park/Maitland Chain of Lakes.

Up until today the winds have been 20 mph and it's been a little hard to fish

mid lake grass patches that are abundant on this chain of lakes. The past

three days we spent most of our time fishing docks and small pad fields

scattered around the shoreline's of the entire chain of lakes. Spinner baits

and shallow running Laser Lure Crank baits were the key to catching

most of our fish Tue Wed and Thurs.Today Friday the winds laid down and we

spent most of the day fishing offshore grass beds in 8 to 12 ft of water

and it was by far the best day we have had all week. Our biggest fish was

just shy of 6 pounds but many 2 to 3 pound fish were caught. The highlight

of the day was watching a young man about 10 or 12 years old catch a

Giant Bass, I never got close enough to their boat to ask what it weighed

but it was a Brute even at 100 yards a way. Most of our fish today were caught

on a Rattle Trap and C. Rig.
