COLD WEATHER AGAIN!! Well after a few days of warmer weather today we were handed another cold front that will bring freezing temps the next two mornings and I am going to blame this on my client Jack Goldsmith of Tennessee as this is the second time in less then a month Jack has come down to fish with me and brought this cold mess with him.Just like the first week of Jan when Jack was here for four days he started that trip with a beautiful 9.4 pound fish.Today with this being the first day of a four day trip Jack boated the first fish of the day weighing 10 pounds on the nose.Jack has been fishing with me for about 8 years and he has caught many fish in the 8 and 9 pound range but today we finally pulled the 10 pounder over the side of the boat. This was the fight of a lifetime as Jack handled this fish with 10 # mono in a very narrow canal full of pads and bushes.Total fish count was only 9 for the day but with water temps in the mid 50's and 25 MPH NW winds I'm not complaining at all. All fish today were caught on a Texas rigged Bitter 7.5 Junebug Bluetail worm in two to four foot of water as we were sight fishing for bedding fish.
